In our minds the success or failure of this site will depend entirely on how useful it is to pilots, and the number of pilots that make it a part of THEIR community.
We have heard from many pilots about the need for a place to get together to discuss topics of common interest, and we hope that this site will fill that need.
We have tried, in the Forum Section, to cover as many bases as possible by providing a variety of discussion topics relevant to most pilots. The content will ultimately be decided by each one of you.
In the Advocacy section we are particularly interested in maintaining an active debate around issues of access to the wilderness and efforts in working to maintain it.
With your submissions, we want to develop a reliable database of refueling stops in the Hinterland, that are not published in official guides. This may include your own fuel at your lake, if you are willing to make it available to the occasional wayward pilot in an emergency, or if you sell fuel regularly, but are not listed anywhere. We will take your information and tabulate it, and hopefully present it in a useful format.
In the Pilot’s Hangar you can share your ideas or experiences, or ask others to help you with a particular problem in Aviation.
The Aviation Classifieds will help those of us looking to buy or sell useful aviation "stuff".
The Links section is a starting point, and we are quite happy to add or delete links as time goes on. If you know of a site that will add to our resources as pilots, let us know and we will consider its inclusion in this section.
Finally, we will attempt to post upcoming floatplane events, gatherings and announcements in the Calendar of Events and Reminders as we become aware of them. To this end, if you have an event that you feel should be on the calendar, please let us know and we will post it.
